Former Sonora resident Michael Edward Galvan died Jan. 23 at his home in Unity, Wis. He was 54. Born in Modesto to Raymond and Suzanne Galvan, he grew up in Merced and graduated from Merced High School in 1976. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served at Fort Ord in Monterey.
