The Pinelands region lost a devoted proponent of conservation when Howard Boyd passed away Dec. 20, at the age of 97. Boyd dedicated more than 65 years of his life to study about and preservation of the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. He was a life-long learner and also an educator, author, entomologist, botanist, photographer, filmmaker and naturalist.
